How to create a New Application and start testing

Synopsis:

This guide explains how to create a New Application for testing in Janova.

Applicable to:

Creating and testing any web-based application.

Prerequisite:

Need to be the account owner. All other users will have read only access to the application configuration. Depending on your account level you may not be able to add another application. Account maximums by application are as follows:  Basic - 1, Professional - 2, Enterprise - unlimited.

How to: 

  1. Login to Janova
  2. Click on New Application in the top navigation bar.

  3. In the New Application setup page enter a name and description for the application and click Save and Continue.

  4. In the Configuration page complete the blank Environment template.  This is where you define the website or web based application to be tested.
  5. Enter an environment name and target URL. Remember to enter a complete URL address.  Janova does accept secure websites using https URL's.  Application users will have view access only to this section but only account owners will be able to modify any of the information.

  6. Select the Make Default Environment checkbox to make this site the default testing environment for this application.  If the website or application is behind a firewall or needs a secure access connection check the Secure Access Setting check box and complete the required fields.

  7. To edit the application name, description or Base URL you must click on the Configuration tab from the navigation bar.
  8. To delete a testing environment click on the header of an existing environment and select the Delete button.

  9. To delete an application click on the application name or description in the configuration page and select the delete button. You will then be asked to confirm the deletion. WARNING:  The Delete Application button will delete all Features, Flows and Page Files associated with that particular application.
