How to queue a Feature or Scenario

Synopsis:

This guide explains how to queue a Feature in the Feature Builder.

Applicable to:

Validating a test within Janova.

Prerequisite:

An Application has to be defined and populated with  a FeatureScenario and Page files.

How to: 

  1. After completing the test script in the features page there are two ways to execute the job to run in the cloud:
     
    Click the Queue button located on the right side of a Scenario container to execute a single Scenario. NOTE:  If you receive an error message stating that one or more elements is missing a location string please our Janova 101 on how to define the elements in the Page File here.

    Click the Queue this Feature button at the bottom of the page to run all Scenarios within a particular Feature. NOTE:  If you receive an error message stating that one or more elements is missing a location string please our Janova 101 on how to define the elements in the Page File here.

  2. After a Feature or Scenario has been successfully queued there will be a green confirmation bar at the top of the screen. Either click the link inside of the green bar or click the Test Queue tab to see the Feature or Scenario in the queue page.

  3.  If the Feature is not in Queue, click the Completed button on the left side to see the completed Feature.
  4. As shown below all tests are recorded with what Feature or Scenario was tested. What environment was used, the browser in which it was tested, the queue date, Run Time and which user executed the test. There is also a unique ID# assigned to every test that can be used for troubleshooting and reference purposes.

    Clicking the Scenario title will expand to a step-by-step break down.

  5. A Green Check Mark indicates a successful run. Clicking on the test header will allow for a step-by-step expanded version to open.
  6. A Red X indicates an unsuccessful run. Clicking on the test will allow for an expanded version that defines the error.  NOTE:  Expanding of the tests can only be done in the Completed tests page.
